Dansk Retursystem is putting the collection of one-way packaging out for public tender as of 1 September 2006.

The contract period commences on 1 May 2007 and runs for a total of 29 (twenty-nine) months with an option to extend the period for up to a further 24 (twenty-four) months.

Collection takes place from approximately 6,000 (six thousand) locations, where the material is collected in sacks, palletised containers and plastic boxes. Annual collection volumes are estimated to comprise approximately 100,000 (one hundred thousand) collection orders covering a total of 400 million items of packaging.

The aim is to have only one transporter or carrier per collection point, but it is possible that several companies can win parts of the contracted tasks.
